Fun fact: Mount Elbrus, which is part of the Caucasus Mountains in Eastern Europe, is a whopping 18,510 feet tall. It is the highest mountain in Europe and an extinct volcano located in southern Russia near the border with Georgia. It attracts hundreds of climbers every year, looking for more challenges than Western European mountains. There are two main routes, both of which are extremely difficult, and as with the Matterhorn in the Alps, only highly experienced climbers should attempt to climb Mount Elbrus!
